Auction Catalogue

Almost 30 art students are participating in the auction. These students reflected on education in South Sudan and how they connected to or what they felt about the mission of La Salle Secondary School. The pieces they have created centre around the big ideas of growth, opportunity, privilege, dreams, inequality, hope or love, and were all meaningful to them. They researched on South Sudan, read articles and testimonies that struck them in different ways.

"These works were very important to us, and in the process of making it we learnt a lot of things. We compared our privilege to these children in South Sudan, many of whom do not even receive an education at all. Because of that we wanted to dedicate our time to create pieces that were meaningful, with the knowledge that our efforts can benefit the students of La Salle Secondary School, even if the impact is small. Many of our works carry much emotion, and I think that shows how much we empathise with the children." - Christianna Fung, Grade 11
