Little One
Malaria is the leading cause of illness and death in children under five years old within South Sudan. I was struck by how something so small was able to cut short the lives of millions despite it being easily preventable. It drove me to create a piece that shows innocence (babies) paired alongside the microscopic enemy (mosquitos) that will eventually kill them.
In my view, education is extremely important for a child to prosper. However, we must also be aware of other major and pertinent issues that affect South Sudanese children. After all, how can one receive an education if they do not live to receive one in the first place?
