A Child's Playground
Artist
Caitlyn Si-Hua Tan
When pondering on education, I called to mind all the books and stories I’ve read over the last 10 years of my formal education, and how so much as a single storybook could broaden the imagination of any child. It pained me to think that something that brought me so much joy was inaccessible to the children of South Sudan. With this piece, I wanted to depict a child’s imagination using bright colours and childlike structures whilst employing a childish art style to execute the piece itself. I hope to show how a child can be prevented from reaching their full potential through a lack of education.
